This advanced training course is designed for Registered Physiotherapists who have an interest in treating a pelvic health population and are seeking to expand their clinical skills through the integration of dry needling techniques. With a small student to teacher ratio, over two immersive weekends, participants will deepen their understanding of myofascial trigger points through pain science and pathophysiology, anatomy, and evidence-based dry needling strategies. This course offers a comprehensive lecture-based and hands-on curriculum combining foundational theory with practical application. Participants will review current research on the effectiveness of dry needling in lumbosacral and hip dysfunction, and examine the College of Physiotherapists’ guidelines and standards. The fundamentals of dry needling will be discussed and hands-on instruction will be provided. This will be supplemented with a case study and practical tips to ensure appropriate utilization and competency in a clinical setting. This course will provide you with the confidence to dry needle specific lumbosacral and lower extremity muscles to help reduce pain and restore function in your patient population.
